Managerspring Launches Voice-Based AI Coaching for Managers
The app provides an “always available” coach for free-form discussions as well as a role-play learning curriculum. You can have calls with the coach on the run, allowing the next generation of leaders to build their leadership skills anytime, anywhere.
KIRKLAND, Wash., June 17, 2025 — Sophluent Systems today announced the launch of Managerspring, an AI-powered leadership coaching app for iOS that delivers voice-based coaching for people managers. The app provides free-form coaching to provide advice and talk through tricky situations. The app also has a learning curriculum that allows current or aspiring managers to practice difficult workplace conversations through realistic role-play, and get immediate feedback on their communication style and leadership presence.
Managerspring addresses a key need: Line managers supervise as much two-thirds of the workforce, but get the least learning budget (often none). Most new managers receive no training when they step into leadership, and as a result 50% of new managers get “ineffective” ratings from their teams†.
Managerspring aims to provide a convenient, affordable way to learn people management skills on the go. “Stepping into a manager role for the first time can feel like being asked to fly a plane without any flight training,” said Tom Langan, founder and CEO of Sophluent Systems. “In almost 2 decades of leading teams, I’ve seen how many new managers are left to figure it out on their own. We built Managerspring to be that safety net and guide – a place where new leaders can safely practice, make mistakes, and grow their confidence anytime they need it, without fear of damaging a human relationship.” Managerspring uses advanced conversational AI to simulate a variety of common management scenarios through voice interaction. Users can have authentic conversations with the app to practice situations like giving performance feedback, coaching an underperforming team member, managing change, or navigating a conflict between coworkers. The AI responds in real time, taking on the role of an employee or colleague in the scenario. After each roleplay session, the app provides personalized feedback on aspects of the user’s communication – such as empathy, authenticity, and good judgement – highlighting strengths and offering suggestions for improvement.
Because Managerspring is voice-based and mobile, new managers can access their coach on the go, making it easier to fit coaching into busy schedules. “We wanted to meet new leaders where they are – often on the move,” Langan added. “Whether you’re heading home from work or walking the dog, you can pop in your AirPods and have a quick conversation with Managerspring. It’s like chatting with a mentor who’s on-call 24/7.”
Pricing and Availability: Managerspring is available now for iOS, iPad, and Vision Pro. New users can sign up for a free 3-day trial, after which a subscription is $9.99/month with an annual subscription (billed annually), or $14.99 month-to-month. The app can be downloaded on the Apple App Store, and more information is available on the Managerspring website (https://managerspring.com). Managerspring was developed by Sophluent Systems LLC, a Kirkland, Washington-based company founded in 2024 by Tom Langan. Tom previously held a Director position in Product Management at Meta (Oculus/VR), and was a leader at Hulu and Xbox before that. The Sophluent Systems team draws on decades of management experience to reinvent how leadership skills are taught. Managerspring’s mission is to empower this generation of leaders with AI-powered tools to make them more impactful and empathetic.
